We were delighted to hear Innova Systems’ customer, Zettlex, has just won the ‘Outstanding Rural Manufacturing Business’ award at this year’s Rural Business Awards. Congratulations to their amazing team on their much deserved win!
Now a globally recognised brand, with contracts for space rockets, jet engines and safety critical equipment, Zettlex began with two engineers working in a garden shed. They create compact, accurate and hard wearing sensors for measuring position or speed in harsh environments. The sensors are used in a wide variety of sectors including medical, defence, motorsport, aerospace and also in energy production.
Zettlex have achieved record sales in 2015 with 82% of revenue from exports. Sales are forecast rise by 37 per cent in 2016 with exports accounting for around 90%.
Their sensors must withstand harsh conditions including extreme temperatures, electromagnetic noise, shock, vibration, liquid immersion in chemicals, high speeds and explosive situations.
Zettlex uses innovative technology which was invented, developed and patented by its founders. Sensors of this kind are traditionally based on electrical transformers, but Zettlex makes cost and efficiency savings by using its own printing technique, leveraging SOLIDWORKS to help design, build and test its products.
