The SWUGN (The SOLIDWORKS User Group Network) committee was originally formed as the SOLIDWORKS National User Group (SNUG) in October 1999. The original founding members – Scott Bemis, Michelle Pillers, Mark Peters, and Richard Doyle – met with SOLIDWORKS representatives to discuss a national body for user group support. The SNUG charter was formally incorporated on March 7th, 2000.
Since then, the committee has adopted a new name, and has expanded to 8 members including international representatives in Europe and Australia/New Zealand. There have been some changes to the original group, but the mission remains the same – bringing SOLIDWORKS users together to learn from each other.
The SOLIDWORKS User Group Network is an important part of the SOLIDWORKS Community. The SWUGN committee is always looking for new ideas, and would like to hear from you. Take some time to get to know your regional representative, and perhaps even offer to volunteer to help.
SWUGN-UK (SOLIDWORKS User Group United Kingdom) has been started with the aim of collaborating and creating a stronger SOLIDWORKS Community in the United Kingdom by bringing Engineers, Designers and Students together to network & share their experiences of using SOLIDWORKS.

SWUGN NorthWest
Liverpool John Moores University, James Parsons Building, Byrom St.
Thursday, May 25th.
It’s that time again when we will join forces with the annual LJMU Design Show.
Last year we had a fantastic turn out with over 100 members attending the meeting. We had some great feedback and hope to make this year even better. This is a meeting you don’t want to miss.
Our annual event at LJMU is a great opportunity to meet this years graduates before they join the industry as professionals. We want to help you to share ideas, to take away new SOLIDWORKS skills and connect with other engineers in the pursuit of innovation.
SWUGNW has a large amount of SOLIDWORKS Experts as regular attendees so it is also a great opportunity to meet with them and discuss all things SOLIDWORKS.
As always we plan to continue supporting graduates across the North West and we invite businesses, partners, engineers and anyone with an interest in SOLIDWORKS to come along and take part in the conversation
Evening plan:
- Ian Pilkington – SOLIDWORKS World 2017 – What to expect
- Richard Doyle – SOLIDWORKS Tip and Tricks
- Craig Checkley – Intro to KeyShot
