SOLIDWORKS CAM - Powered by CAMWorks.
SOLIDWORKS CAM is an add-on to all versions of SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD that lets you prepare your designs for manufacturing much earlier in the development cycle. In fact, manufacturing tasks that traditionally had to wait until completion of your design can now be performed concurrently with your design process.
Knowledge-Based Machining (or KBM) is a relatively new term, but one that is rapidly gaining significance in manufacturing circles. It generally refers to a CAM software’s ability to make essential knowledge a part of its automation. The system’s knowledge is then translated directly into “smart” features which help streamline and strengthen the design process, potentially eliminating or severely reducing the need to manage and document changes.

3D CAD integration
Take advantage of information in your SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD model to make better, more-informed decisions.
Automation
Knowledge-Based Machining eliminates or greatly-reduces the need to manage and document changes.
Model-Based Definition
Ensure your machining strategies are automatically adjusted based on tolerance specifications.
SOLIDWORKS CAM Standard.
SOLIDWORKS CAM Standard lets you quickly program individual milled parts and configurations without leaving the SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD environment that you’re used to.
SOLIDWORKS CAM provides full access to rule definitions, so you can create and build to your company standards, as well as Tolerance-Based Machining (see video for more information).
If you have SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD, Standard, Professional, or Premium and you have a subscription contract, you’re all set – SOLIDWORKS CAM Standard is included with your license!
